newsDr Chris Boulton - I'm delighted that my chum and co-author of 10 publications (including Brewing Yeast and Fermentation) is working with red-ts an an Associate Consultant. His has an enviable pedigree with 23 years at Bass/Coors and is a Special Professor/Teaching Fellow at the University of Nottingham with Professor Katherine Smart. In addition to expanding our writing commitments, we plan to develop our consulting offer around an exciting product that will improve yeast and fermentation in breweries. Professorship - I've never been that big on titles but I was well chuffed when Professor Paul Hughes asked me to become a (part-time) Professor at the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling (ICBD) at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Having started my career as a laboratory technician at what is now BRI (Brewing Research International), I was incredibly fortunate to study at Heriot-Watt between 1972-76. So a full circle and its timely to recognise the late Professor Anna Macleod and Dr John Hudson who made my journey from BRI in Nutfield to Edinburgh happen.
