who we are

David Quain - prior to founding red-ts, David had a 24 year career with Coors (formally Bass) Brewers in the UK.  His most recent senior management position being Head of Technology & Dispense Development at the Technical Centre in Burton-on-Trent.  This challenging role sought to exploit technical insight to develop new opportunities to excite consumers with innovations in product, package and dispense.  Previous roles included Research Manager and Company Microbiologist.  Prior to Coors, David spent five years at the Brewing Research International, gained a Ph.D on yeast biochemistry from the University of Liverpool and B.Sc in Brewing and Biochemistry from Heriot Watt University.  He is a Cambridge Prize Winner, Fellow and Examiner (Diploma paper 2) of the Institute of Brewing & Distilling.  He has an international reputation for his work on yeast and is the co-author (with Chris Boulton) of Brewing Yeast & Fermentation which was republished in paperback in May 2006.  He is currently Visiting Professor in Brewing at the International Centre of Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.  David has 56 publications and 15 patent applications to his name.

Sue Quain - had a 10 year career with Bass Brewers in Technical (laboratory new product development [NPD], sensory analysis) and Marketing (brand management culminating in the role of Senior NPD Manager).  She has a B.Sc in Food Science from the University of Reading.  Sue is responsible for business development and - not surprisingly given her history - directs red-ts' marketing activities.
